Theme: "Creating a Trauma-Informed Community"
Join our Keynote Speakers and Expert Survivor Panelists share their expertise on the aftermath of complex trauma and impact of intersecting issues with trafficking such as substance dependency and mental health needs.
This year's symposium focuses on deepening our understanding and trauma informed support for survivors through education and collaboration. Topics include:
- Mitigating Re-Traumatization: Strategies to prevent further trauma in survivors.
- Understanding Vicarious Trauma: Recognizing and addressing the impact on those who support survivors.
- Substance Abuse and Recovery: Exploring the relationship between trauma and substance use.
- Shame and Identity: Addressing the effects of trauma on self-perception and shame.
- Intersection with Child Welfare: Examining the overlap between trafficking and child welfare systems.
- Post-Traumatic Growth and Healing: Insights into recovery and personal growth after trauma.
This year's Keynote Speakers are joining us from Safe Exit Initiative located in Massachusetts. Safe Exit Initiative is a survivor led agency focused on supporting survivors through various capacities and program models.
