Model Secondary School for the Deaf will be hosting numerous schools from around the nation to perform in a basketball championship Saturday morning and a cheerleading competition Saturday afternoon. 

We will arrive at the school no later than 12 pm to meet with John, the athletic director and find a space to warm up and get ready. 

The cheerleading competition will start at approximately 1 pm, there will be 6 teams with no more than 6 cheerleaders per team and 3 rounds that they will perform. 

Performances will end sometime between 2:30 and 3, at this time Cheer DC will perform a routine while the judges are deliberating. We can perform for as long as we'd like, but he understands that we will likely only perform for 5-10 minutes, including time to talk about our organization. While there will be some hearing people in the audience, most will be deaf. We will have a translator to assist us in talking about our organization and also to assist during our time at the school. 

We can have music, but it will be played at 3 times the level we are used to. John and I discussed whether we should have a cheer or not. We can if we would like but we thought it best to stick to stunts, dance and tumbling. I will work with the coaches to develop that out. 

Please arrive in uniform with bows (or cheer dc tee and black pants for newcomers).

We will meet at the parking lot and walk to the gym together to meet with John. Please see the photo as it is a map of campus. We will park in the parking lot near the gym connected to Switzer Drive and Telegraph Hill Road. 

This will count for 3.5 hours.
