Hello! As some of you may know, we're a group of 8 and are all enrolled in an 18 month program where we cultivate social change through the power of ideas and direct action to help build sustainable communities around the world. Our names are Angel Barnett, Sophie Perry, Brandon Tyus, Renata Hohenfeld, Ruben Romero, Alejandro Castro, Andrea Fabiola, and Gabriella Castellanos. We started this program at the beginning of August, and since then have been doing investigations and studies about poverty and worldly issues, as well are preparing for our travel abroad. Each of us will be traveling overseas to either Africa or Brazil at the end of January, where we'll spend six months at our project sites working to help build sustainable communities. In order to be able to have this experience, we each need to raise $6,000. Angel and Sophie will come back to LA for a night to host a fundraising event on Friday, November 30th to help our team get to our project sites. This will be a cocktail party where there will be food, a bar, live entertainment, auction, and a presentation about our work. There is a $60 admission fee for adults and $30 for kids for this event in support of our cause.
