Description
The Fab Lab Coffee House presents Frank DiBussolo and Bruce Kaminsky.
Don't miss your chance to hear this one of a kind music blend!
Bruce loves playing the bass, but couldn't take it with him on his motorcycle to local gigs. So he developed and built a 30" scale Carry-On Electric Upright bass with transducer pickups! The short scale and transducer idea was transferred onto a Steinberger-like, no-head stock neck or body and the Kydd Bass was born! Since then, he has added a 42" long model and a Big Kydd. The Kydd Bass has been played by many famous musicians including Jimmy Buffet!
Frank is no stranger to the Fab Lab concert series. Frank has been a professional musician since 1965. During this time he has worked with Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Diana Ross, Diane Carroll, Vicky Carr, Bob Hope, George Burns and Dom DeLouise and others. As a soloist he has been featured with the bands of Buddy Rich, Dizzy Gillespie, Art Blakey, Bucky Pizzarelli, Howard Alden, Lester Lannin and more. He is a graduate of Widener University and the Combs College of Music where he earned the Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees. For his work in the recording industry, he has been nominated eight times for The Grammy Award in various categories. He is published in Guitar Player, The Educator and Just Jazz Guitar magazines as well as in the Groves Dictionary.
