Description
Dear friend of Saint Francis Retreat House,
The founder of our Franciscan Order, Saint Francis of Assisi, loved Christmas. He called it the “feast of feasts" and urged the friars to celebrate the day with great solemnity. We know that Christmas has become a time where we share the love of Christ with one another in many ways, including gift-giving. We are writing you today to tell you about a need we have and to ask you to consider a gift to Saint Francis Retreat House to help realize that need.
If you have made a retreat at Saint Francis, you know that our 2nd floor East Wing has "Jack and Jill" bedrooms with every two rooms sharing one bath. Each room has two twin beds and a small desk. These rooms lack a comfortable sitting chair, something our adult retreats really desire. Most adults are not interested in sharing the room with someone they do not know and so usually only one of the beds is used. It seems a simple change: just replace one of the twin beds with a comfortable chair. But, there are times when we do need two beds in each room. We have found a solution in a very unique "mini sofa sleeper." It appears to be a small comfortable love seat but fully opens into a twin bed when
needed!
Can you help us realize this upgrade? Any gift you are able to give will be appreciated. No gift is too small. You have been a blessing to us in the past and we need your help once again. Thanks!
Let us take this opportunity to wish you a most blessed Christmas. May the New year of 2020 be a time of good health and prosperity for you and all your loved ones.
Sincerely,
Brother Mark and Sister Regina
