Description
Join NCC Votes, the Annual Humanities Program and the Office of Student Life & Leadership Development at Northampton Community College for a non-partisan panel discussion on current and relevant policy related issues including reproductive healthcare, social justice, cost of living/inflation, and gun violence prevention and how students can be effective advocates to their legislators both on a state and federal level regarding these policy issues.
11AM to 12PM: Panel Discussion
Each speaker will present briefly on their topics and provide context for each policy issue and how it can be addressed at the legislative level. Speakers include:
- Allentown Women's Center speaking on reproductive rights
- Dr. Jennifer Midberry from Lehigh University speaking on gun violence prevention
- Promise Neighborhoods speaking on cost of living
- Lehigh Valley Justice Institute speaking on social justice
- NCC Votes speaking on legislative advocacy
12PM to 1PM: Q&A Breakout Lunch
Lunch will be provided to students during the breakout session where they can interact with each of the panelists to talk more about specific topics of their interest.
