How you create your plan is as important as the resulting plan. An effective process builds ownership and accountability among staff and board.

Hmmmm. Process? Staff and board? This sounds like a bigger deal than necessary.

Why bother? You’ve got donors, some fundraising strategies, some staff and big buck board members with connections. (Or maybe not.) No matter. Staff (or a great board member) just writes a quick outline and mini calendar. Then start fundraising.

Maybe your organization’s fund development plan is more than the quick outline. Maybe your great staff writes a solid plan with various activities. And the board and fundraising committee do quite a bit of brainstorming.
